MARE – Marine and Environmental Sciences Centre – is a centre for research, technological development and innovation, with an integrative and holistic approach. MARE combines technical and scientific expertise to address all types of aquatic ecosystems, river basins, coastal systems and ocean in a current context of regional and global changes and cumulative anthropogenic impacts.

- Divulgation and dissemination of scientific knowledge in order to support the progress of society and sustainable development policies;
- CETEMARES, MARE’s scientific facility, is distinguished by its animal experimentation laboratories, and laboratories equipped with the most modern equipment in the area of marine biology, aquaculture, biotechnology, chemistry, microbiology and food technology, as well as several spaces dedicated to training and co-creation.
